A New Direction Baptist Church was established in February 2021. The church began meeting on a cul-de-sac in the Crosby, Texas area in 2020.

Our History
A New Direction Baptist Church was formed when our nation shut down in March, 2020, as a result of the Covid-19 Virus. The neighbors in the Sealander Court in Crosby, Texas decided to worship together under the leadership of Dr. Gene H. Talbot.
Our first service was on March 29, 2020. We began sitting in our lawn chairs in the cul-de-sac to provide social distancing. We had around 12 in our first service. The group decided we needed a Wednesday evening service which we began on March 1, 2020. We began to grow and added pop-up tents which gave us shade.
In October 2020 we were invited to move our services to Mrs. Leanne McCall’s home in the Indian Shores Subdivision in Crosby. We continue to meet there on Sundays and Wednesdays. In December 2020, we began two Sunday School classes. Vicki Cook teaches the Joy (ladies) class and Pete Merrill teaches the Pairs and Spares class. As of August 2021, we have now been able to add a Children's Ministry. Our Children's Ministry Coordinator is Nancy Burwell and her assistant is Kathy Ward. If you have children aged 0-5, we will be providing Children's Church for them. If you have any questions please let us know we are happy to help.
